Located only 15 minutes away from Fred's Camp is this beautiful 2KM long sandy beach. It is definitely a fun spot for a family day trip! You can learn about the rich natural and cultural heritage of Providence Bay at the Discovery Center, go for a walk along the boardwalk and have some tasty treats. The Discovery Centre is open in the summer months of July and August, 7 days a week from 10 am to 6 pm.
The Cup and Saucer is a beautiful nature preserve with approximately 8
km of trails. This preserve is accessible from Highway 540 and is open to all hikers!
M'Chigeeng (pronounced Shi-geeng) is a First Nations town and home to the Ojibwe Cultural Foundation. It is a wonderful place to visit and experience the Anishinaabe language, culture, and spirituality. The facility is home to a Museum, Public Art Gallery, Gift Shop, language resources, healing lodge, and a performance amphitheater.
Gore Bay is a wonderful historic town with stunning views of the channel. Check out the Gore Bay Museum or Habour Centre for a bit of history and local art! You can also hike to visit the East Bluff Lookout and afterwards cool off at one of the many shops and restaurants in town.
This beautiful heritage town is a fantastic spot to check out when visiting Manitoulin. Here you can explore Bridal Veil Falls, which is fed from Lake Kagawong. Other attractions include the Billings Connections Trail, the Old Mill Heritage Centre, Manitoulin Chocolate Works, and more!
Mindemoya is a central hub on island where you can find Manitoulin’s largest supermarket, sporting goods stores (the Up-Top Sports Shop), hardware stores and more! There are also restaurants and other shops to explore. The Pioneer Park Museum welcomes visitors to the 19th century with artifacts and history from pioneer life on the island. The museum is open every day in July and August from 9:00am to 6:00pm
